Rubber Moulded Components All the non standard seals are the result of the same vulcanization process
described under the section concerning o-rings. However,
these parts are of the most varied shapes and therefore are
‘special products’; Reference then below, will only be made
to the differences in the production process that derive
from the difference of geometric shape.
While for o-rings, the simple indication of the two sizes
of the internal diameter and the section is sufficient to
identify the exact item required, for the special parts, the
customer has to provide a detailed technical drawing of the
part. These products are also moulded by injection presses in
order to permit a perfect balance between constant quality
levels and cost control.
Hydraulic and
Pneumatic Seals
Albion, is able to supply, a range of seals, which, due to their
optimized geometries and designs, satisfy the technical and
economic demands of the industry in full, and offer sealing
solutions for Reciprocating motion, together with Axial and
Radial seals.Common features for hydraulic seals and pneumatic seals include spring loaded, integral wiper, and split seal. Sealing elements have a decisive influence on the design, function and service life of hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders and systems. This applies equally to piston and rod seals, where leak tightness, resistance to wear and gap extrusion, resistance to process media, resistance to high and low temperatures, low friction, compact form and simple installation are demanded in order to meet the requirements of industry for a functional sealing solution. Composite
seals are two- or multi-part seals manufactured as an
integral unit. A typical composite seal consists of an
integral PTFE ring and elastomer ring, providing the
properties of an elastomeric ring with a rigid, low friction
(PTFE)working face.
O Rings
O-Rings are produced as a
result of the vulcanization of the rubber which is
carried out by presses fitted with steel moulds. Different types
of rubber moulding are adopted, but the most common used for the
specific production of standardized pieces such as O-Rings is
the injection method with closed moulds as it permits the
production of large volumes at extremely competitive prices.Raw materials used are supplied by the most prestigious companies in this field, and include Nitrile (NBR), (Silicone (VMQ), Fluorosilicone (FVMQ), Fluorocarbon (Viton® / FPM), Perfluorocarbon (Kalrez®, Chemraz® FFPM), Ethylene-Propylene (EPDM), Hydrogen Nitrile (HNBR), Teflon® (PTFE). Albion experts will be happy to give advice on the material suitable to your application. Available Sizes
